Being a business owner, you should have a strong online presence right? Now, how do you make this possible? Here comes the role of fresh, and high-quality content. You need to curate different types of content for your business that can make people aware of your brand, and products.
When I say content, what comes into your mind immediately? Social media posts, video content, infographics, blog posts, articles, and the list goes on and on.
Today, I will be taking you through a variety of content types, which you can use for your business. I will also help you understand how to curate it intentionally so that you will be able to attract your audience and convert them into paying clients. Are you ready to get started? Let’s jump into it.
Different types of content you can curate for your business:
A key point to be focused on while generating content is that it has to be intentional. We as a social media marketing agency, always focus on creating intentional content for our clients. There should be a specific purpose or intention behind each one of your content. You should never post, for the sake of posting, without a proper strategy, or just to be consistent. This might work when you are in the initial phase of your business. It is the time when you can try out trial and error methods. But once your business has set foot in the online world, then refrain from doing this. You should lay the foundation for a proper content strategy. Each of your content should have the power to attract your ideal audience, nurture them, and finally convert them. Thereby you build a strong funnel through your content.
Two major types of content for your business:
1. Evergreen content:
Blog posts:
Are blogs still on trend? Yes, I am telling you they are and they can help you a lot. Blog posts are one of the most powerful content types in the online space. They can literally stay for a longer period, and hence I would like to call them evergreen content. We shall take blogs as an example. Blog posts are really good for improving the SEO of your online site. Now, what does SEO mean? You could check our podcast episode on SEO, where we have detailed information about using SEO for your business. When you have very good SEO blogs on your website, your business gets ranked on google. Ideally, when people search for products you are selling, google shows up your site on the search results.

Podcast:
Do you love listening to podcasts? How about creating them? There are so many people who love to listen to podcasts. We can make podcasts, and evergreen content. I will tell you how I do that for myself. In my case, I usually embed every podcast episode into a blog post. So, when a person searches for a similar topic, they can reach my podcast through the blog post I have added along with it. This is how it works.
YouTube:
Do you have a single day of yours crossed without having a glance on YouTube? Do you know the power of this amazing platform? YouTube is an awesome platform where you can curate your evergreen content. There are numerous people who directly jump into YouTube to search for their needs, or if they want to learn about something. Then, why don’t we make use of it? It is a platform that is search engine optimized. You can start a YouTube channel for your brand for publishing evergreen content.
I hope you got a clear picture of the evergreen content. Even though I have mentioned a few ideas for evergreen content, wouldn’t this be too much if you hop on to every type of content? So, I would suggest you use any one of these for your business. Choosing the best platform is according to your take. I suggest you choose one based on your comfort and liking. When I had to choose between a podcast and a YouTube channel, I chose a podcast. I am a mompreneur, and hence creating videos may not be possible for me always, so I chose a podcast for myself. Also, my audience is mostly womenpreneurs, who are juggling a lot of things. Podcasts sounded like a perfect medium for them to access my content. They will be able to listen to it, even when they are working out, taking care of children, driving, or cooking. And that’s how I chose podcasts for my evergreen content.
But if you are not that comfortable in coming up on both podcasts, or YouTube, then choose blogs. Blogs have a very high potential to help your business reach new eyeballs. If you are completely lacking time, we are here to help you out as a social media marketing agency. We can create content for your business or help you curate a customized strategy, which you can repeat often.
2. Social Media Posts
The next type of content is our own Social Media Posts. Social media posts help us build our brand in this online world to a great extent. We, as a social media marketing agency, create tailored content and strategies for our clients depending on various criteria. We come up with different plans for each client. What works for one client may not work for the other, right? It purely depends on their target audience, product types, and a lot more other criteria.
Here are a few types of social media posts which I recommend:
Carousels
Carousels are multiple slides on a single Instagram post. They work really well on Instagram and LinkedIn. It gives the best results when we give away educational or informative content through them. Apart from that, fun content also works in carousels. Something people can relate to, something that gives them an instant fun element also works in a better way than carousels. Do you know why the carousel works for us well? Let me give out the secret. We ensure to apply a particular formula for them. It’s called AIDA. Let me tell you how that works.
AIDA formula
AIDA implies Attention, Interest, Desire, and Action. We formulate our carousels in such a way that our first slide shows something very attention-grabbing. This makes them slide the carousel. The second slide should have something that interests them, the third slide should emphasize creating a desire in them. The final slide should be a call to action, which makes them do an action that you desire. It can be to buy something, to visit the website, download a freebie, avail an offer, etc.
Using this formula you can make your audience reach the last slide of your carousel, Voila! This helps you improve your Instagram algorithm as the person has spent more time on your content. Make sure you follow the AIDA formula to get the best out of carousel posts.
Video Content
One of the best forms of content on social media. Be it long-form, or short form, it surely creates good results for your business. For the past year, short-form video content is booming on social media and has resulted in major benefits for many businesses. I know many businesses that have grown exponentially with this type of content. Short-form content is easily consumable for your audience, and if you could make it entertaining or educational, it would be the icing on the cake.

User-generated content
User-generated content is another type of content that can help you impact social media. For eg: Suppose you are a restaurant owner. You can collaborate with food bloggers, or influencers to experience your food, take videos, and review them as video content. This can create a really good impact on your audience. You can even get more eyeballs to your business, as their audience is also viewing the content. Sounds like a plan?
If not possible with influencers always, I have another idea for you, you can even include common people to make this user-generated content. Would you like to know how? You can run some contests and ask people to do an unboxing video with your product, post it on social media, and tag you. You can even ask them to share some videos of them using the products, and you can further use them on your social.
Infographics
Infographics work really well for many industries. These can carry good informative content. You can also share reviews, client testimonials, transformations, or results from your clients using pie charts, flow charts, etc. You can also include some photos with fun elements, product photos with features, flat lay photos, and more. But, make sure your product photos are done so creatively and taken so well. If they are visually appealing, they can catch your audience’s attention. Your images should be scroll-stopping ones, only then you can make people stop, and spend time on your content.
Personal posts
Personal posts always help to build a personal touch to your brand. You can try adding personal photos in between to make your audience have an emotional connection with you. It can be you, your team, or anything that’s personal, and not related to sales. This can emphasize genuine connections and improves the trust factor in your audience.
Collaborative posts
Collaborative posts can be created by joining with businesses that are not your competitors but from aligned fields. You both should have the same target audience, but different products For eg: If you are a wedding photographer, you can collaborate with a wedding event planner. Hence you have a similar target audience, you get introduced to a new set of target audiences. Collaborations work really well if you choose wisely who to collaborate with.
These are some kinds of content that we suggest you try out.
