Nicci Clark had a nurse background and knows the importance of consuming nutritious food for a healthy lifestyle. She started the brand “Nourished” which delivers fresh and healthy meals. Later, her innovative soup brand, Re:Nourish was born. Then, Nicci developed the world’s first microwavable bottle for soup which allows consumers to eat Re:Nourish either hot or cold, from a bottle that can be opened, re-sealed, and put back in a bag, without being too hot to handle.
Even though she knows that this business is going to be a super hit, she struggled a lot in the beginning. She couldn’t find investors to start her small business in the beginning. That was something Nicci strongly sorted in the later time. Nicci will take you through the steps of how her business came out as a grand success globally, and how it reached a grand milestone of 14 million pounds in the second year of trading.
How did Nicci start the small business from scratch?
Nicci had her first business Nourish in 2010. She was a mom of 2 kids when she started off. She had got a background in nutrition. In 2016, she was in search of a microwaveable bottle in the USA and found it had never existed.
She wanted to be the person to start the world’s first microwaveable fully recyclable bottle for fresh soup. That is how Re:Nourish was born in 2018. Looking at the conditions of her idea, everybody said that it could not be done and won’t be successful. But she was not ready to give up. In 2018, she started her brand new business Re:Nourish with a microwaveable bottle for soup.
It took 9 months to design the bottle. In 2019, they got the first bottle, and it worked. The main hurdle she had to face is that she did not have the proper funds to invest in. The investors she approached either asked for a 5 or 6-figure payback, or the rights to the bottle.
Her only way to make this happen was by selling her home. She took the courage, and was all set to sell her home, and get her business in place. And that was how she started her successful business.

Nicci launched in 2019, within 4 weeks of showing the brand. They had a big retailer taking up their products. It was UK-based. Later they got it stocked in 314 stores and got a full national listing.
