Learn how to get more clients with LinkedIn marketing.

Are you excited to get started with acquiring more clients through LinkedIn? Let’s start.

If you are a creative entrepreneur and you think that LinkedIn is not for you, and it is only for corporate businesses, stop right there!

I have some amazing content and marketing ideas that every small business or solopreneur can implement on LinkedIn. I’m going to tell you how you can make use of that corporate marketing in your small business as well.

Let me start with an example. If you are into selling artworks, how about printing your artworks and getting a huge contract for a hotel? Probably the hotels have like 300 rooms, so somebody wants to have 300 prints of your artwork. Isn’t that amazing?

I want all of you to think big like that. Where will you find such a client? Who’s going to order those 300 prints? It is not going to come from Instagram or Facebook, right? It is most likely to come from LinkedIn.

You are going to get huge revenue in this case.  Because the clients that you get through LinkedIn are different from the client who is coming through other platforms like Instagram, who may bargain with you for every penny they are going to spend on your artwork.

This episode is not only for corporate people, or it’s not only for those who are marketing in the corporate sector. It is for those of you who are solopreneurs, small business owners, creative entrepreneurs, or artists.

We all have our space on LinkedIn. But, it needs some huge ideas to nail LinkedIn marketing. So, here I am all set to share some kickass ideas that will help you skyrocket your Linkedin journey. If you start implementing it, you are gonna make the needle move in your business.

Here are some strategies for LinkedIn marketing:

1. Personal branding for your business on Linkedin

Linkedin marketing. Social media marketing agency.

On LinkedIn, you can have your personal profile. If you have a business, you can start a business page on Linkedin just like we have an option for a business page on  Facebook.

If you are somebody who wants to remain behind the scenes, then it’s totally fine. You don’t have to build a personal profile.

But I believe that personal branding is important for your business. It does not mean you cannot run a business without having a personal brand. Of course, you can run a business without a personal brand, but those of you who are ready to create a personal brand in parallel to your company or business page, get success quite faster than others because people always connect with people.

Your buyers may not talk to you directly. But if you build a personal brand on LinkedIn or Instagram, or any social media, you start being known as the person behind that brand. That makes a huge difference.

You can think of a lot of such brands. In India, think about the brand Mama Earth. The founders have a very good personal branding profile.

If you are in UAE you look at the brand Citron. I really love her lunch boxes – Sara’s lunchboxes. She’s also building a very amazing personal profile in line along with growing their business right now.

A lot of people be it small businesses or be it big companies. All of them prefer having a personal brand for their CEO, or the person behind the brand. When people connect with the founder, that makes a huge impact on their brand.

Let me remind you that it’s not just for getting clients. If you’re a startup brand, looking to get investment and who wants to bring in funding for your brand,  it’s not just the business model that works. It is also about the personal brand you create and the personal connections you create so that investors are going to trust you right?

I hope this gives you an idea of the importance of personal branding.

2. Optimizing your profile on Linkedin

Optimize and update your profile on Linkedin. People need to know exactly who you are, where have you worked previously, and what is your expertise. You can start by adding the perfect tagline.

There is an option to add a tagline where you can actually write what you’re into. For example, if you are in a service-based business, you can say “I help people ___ ” depending on the service you are offering.

Then, you need to update your bio. There is a bio section where you can write a summary about yourself so that whoever is coming for the very first time gets a nice first impression.

Next, you need to focus on your profile photo. As I am talking about your personal branding, it is ideal to have a brand photo shoot done. . Do not put a random photo that one of your friends took with the mobile phone, or a blurred photo.

Instead, put a well-dressed photo that makes people look like a professional. Invest some money into it. Get at least one photo done for yourself for your LinkedIn profile, which you can use on your portfolio, CV, and all other social media platforms.

Your next focus should be to have a cover image for your LinkedIn profile. You can brand the cover image with a  little one-line tagline or something about your brand. This should be short, crisp, and eye-catching.

Again, the same is the case with your company profile. Make sure you update all of the areas mentioned above, and then you start posting.

3. Content strategy on Linkedin for your Business

Once you are done with profile optimization, the next part is to have a solid content strategy.

Are you confused about what to post regularly to achieve the maximum results? Let me give you some best types of content that you can post.

Try to share valuable content that your target customer would love to learn about. You can include educational content for this purpose.

You need to show off your company culture, your clients, and what you are really capable of doing. Photos of a party that happened in your office, an event that happened in your office, and the happy faces of your employees can be published to show the company culture

That shows the strength of your company, the kind of office you have, and the number of people working in your office. This can make an impression in the minds of your prospective clients that yours is a well-settled company with a good strength of employees. This increases the trust factor.

You can even post content related to your company’s CSR initiatives, details of any awards your company has received, and even client testimonials. These types of content work like magic on Linkedin. You have to make sure, to add all of these styles.

4. How tagging people on Linkedin helps you.

Try to tag people who are present in the photographs you are sharing. For example, if it is related to an event that happened in your company, or related to some of the employees, or maybe if you are featuring some of your employees, tag them so that they will always reshare it on their profiles. Everybody who’s following them is going to see that for sure.

Even if they don’t reshare it on their profiles, they are most likely to comment. They might just thank you for posting that. Even then it is going to show up in the feeds of their followers or their connections, which means you will get more visibility.

So social media is all about getting more visibility for your business, right? So whenever there is an option to tag some personal accounts, make sure you do that, because that gives huge visibility to your profile. It gives your company a chance to be shown in front of so many other people.

These are the different ways you can use different strategies on your content. The same is the case while producing content for your personal profile as well.

5. Content strategy on Linkedin Personal Profile

Talk about your company culture and your products.  But never try to sell them. When you talk about your products, talk about the benefits, that it is going to bring to your customers, rather than the features of the product. Do not focus on selling directly, but people should see your brand. You need to build credibility, and trust every single day.

6. Tips for Linkedin Connections

How do you get connected to relevant people?

You can search for the relevant people with that you want to connect. For example, you are an artist and you want to connect with some interior designers. Then, search for the interior designers and you can run the filter by the location, and send them connection requests.

Do bear in mind that do not send connection requests to people, in order to sell your product to them.  Whenever you’re making these connection requests, try to build relationships with these people and don’t directly pitch your offers.

So how do you build a relationship? Once you connect with them, ask them if they are free to do a coffee call. Nowadays it’s very easy to get over a call with people after this pandemic era because people are very comfortable connecting with each other on zoom calls. Ask them for an appointment for a 10 or 15 minutes call with you so that you get to know them and they get to know you.

Probably, you may also be able to help that person. You never know who is connected to whom, right? Or they might be able to help you as well. So look at the synergies, some of them may not be a right fit for you and you may not be a right fit for them as well, but that is fine.

You can’t really predict when these connections will come in handy for you. Probably one of your friends might require a service from this new connection. It may be six months down the lane, but you have made that connection with these people so that you can pick up the phone and call them, and let them know that there is a requirement.

In that way, you are actually the one who is trying to help them. That is the principle of “Giving”.

Always try to focus on giving to others. Focus on ways you can help others. Then, what you need is going to come back to you. This is what I have always believed in and my whole business is built around it. I have tried to help a lot of people without expecting anything in return.

All the posts that I do, all the podcasts that I create, I make sure it is going to help somebody who’s going to spend their time listening to me or reading my post. Their time is valuable, and I make sure even if they listen to the podcast for just 5 mins, they get enough value.

A lot of my audience have referred me to their clients, friends, or family.

For example, you may be listening to my podcasts, but you may not need my service. However, you may have friends or family who really need help or a push to do social media marketing in their business. In such cases, you can always refer people who you know are the experts in social media marketing. You may even remember and you can send them my website link and direct them to the right people.

So when you send a connection request to people, make sure you help them. Do not jump into selling your offers directly. Think of the help you can provide them. The right connections, the right references, resources, or any help you can give them.

7. Premium membership on LinkedIn
